IKM gets contract by PT McDermott Indonesia for the Kepodang Gas Field Project Tuesday, Oct 01, 2013 PT IKM Indonesia has been awarded a contract by PT McDermott Indonesia for the Kepodang Gas Field Project. McDermott won the contract from PC Muriah, which is an affiliate of PETRONAS Carigali. Under this contract, McDermott will procure, build, install and commission a 5,802t central processing platform and a 1,298t wellhead platform. The Muriah PSC currently covers an area of approximately 2788 square kilometers in the East Java Sea. Cities Service originally discovered gas in 1971, and subsequent wells drilled by Conoco in 1981 and Shell in 1993 encountered same gas accumulation, now known as the Kepodang field. The Kepodang field is located about 180 km north east of Semarang, the capital of the Province of Central Java, in water depths ranging from 60 to 70 meters. Kepodang Gas Field is shown below.
